Cbanker: Consumer lending growth may threaten financial stability
RECREATION HOUSE BOR, Moscow Region, Jan 31 (PRIME) -- The extensive growth of Russia’s consumer lending market needs special attention of the central bank as it may pose a threat to the country’s financial stability, Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina said on Thursday.
“Of course, the situation on the consumer lending market needs special attention. The explosive growth of such lending together with stagnation of the people’s real disposable income may pose a threat to financial stability and are fraught for the borrowers,” she said.
“That is why we use regulatory tools to prevent the risk from appearing.”
